SIGMA
7
The SIGMA 7 is a high performance intermediate that suits the experienced
thermal pilot who has, at least, already made his first cross country
flights, and who possesses a good feeling for a glider. He has an active
flying style, can recognise and prevent the onset of trouble, and has
no problem with fast descent techniques. If these conditions are met the
performance potential of this glider can be realised, and the pilot cover
the countryside feeling safe and relaxed.
Outstanding characteristics
High canopy stability
A well-defined max-lift point
on the wing profile and optimal internal pressure characterise the SIGMA
7. These make the glider distinctly more stable and also mean that it
can be flown faster in turbulent air. This puts it wholeheartedly within
the trend for faster transiting, that is becoming ever more popular with
recreational cross country pilots.
The best speed
bar position with SPI
The very stable profile, set up for the best speed, responds precisely
to speed bar inputs. Accelerator movement is exactly tuned for all levels
to make sure that the profile shape is completely retained at all times.
In combination with the Speed-Performance-Indicator (SPI) this allows
you to achieve a markedly higher average speed en route. more about SPI

Precise and
direct handling
The SIGMA 7 has direct and pleasant handling with low brake loads. This
provides precise turn entry, makes progressive radius adjustment possible
at all bank angles, and gives you effortless flying. The balance of profile
and twist give the required thermal bite.
Other important
details:
Narrow risers with a 2 stage accelerate system:
The SIGMA 7 speed system has an adjustable ratio change. The length of
the travel and its loading can be set to suit the pilots leg length
and leg position: an initial easy-to-push 3:1 ratio while the legs are
bent; then an efficient 2:1 ratio with legs straight.
Hybrid lines:
A combination of line types gives the SIGMA 7 durability and good performance.
The lower lines are sheathed to protect them from wear and tear. The middle
and upper gallery lines are uncovered, for less drag and therefore better
performance. The compact braiding and extra coating of the yarns of the
Liros-Competition lines significantly improves resistance to UV radiation
and abrasion. The loops at the line ends are sheathed, to reduce surface
pressure and wear.
ADVANCE STANDARDS
ADVANCE pays great attention to small details. More about
Sigma 7 Certification:
The SIGMA 7 has been awarded
LTF 2 and EN certification for all sizes in both unaccelerated and accelerated
flight. More about the certification:
